"The Glitz and glamour of Old Hong Kong & New Shanghai re-imagined with pop sensibility"

Medium: Cantonese, Mandarin, English

What new elements could one introduce to Shanghai theme, a perennial favorite genre but rather jaded corporate theme in Malaysia? The answer is: Shanghai Vogue! The glorious Shanghai Shidaiqu (Chinese Oldies) era spanned from the 1930s to late 50s, thereafter the cultural hotspot moved to Hong Kong where the action was, and these Hong Kong elements, plus a lot of western influences are the new ingredients SV trio brings to the musical palette. In particular, Shanghai today is a modern cosmopolitan city with a myriad of musical influences. The SV trio takes cues from mega reality shows in China today where performers (famous stars mostly) ooze flamboyance, sexiness and wear stylistic costumes, no longer just the Qipao (Cheong Sum) variety. Musically SV trio is all groovy pop, chill and R&B, no longer Jazz, which is too old-school for modern contemporary consumption.

Combining the immense talent and beauty of May Mow, Yuii Chan and Melissa Ong, Shanghai Vogue fills a void in the music scene yearning for something refreshingly new apart from the commercial and much jaded Shanghai Jazz.

One seldom finds a musical trio as natural and gifted as these 3 amazing songstressess. Yuii Chan is a child prodigy who started singing since small and recorded many albums by the age of 12. A natural born entertainer blessed with good looks, star aura, dancing skills, and all-round stage showmanship, Yuii Chan won countless competitions; the biggest and most prestigious was Astro Star Quest 2014 3rd Runner-Up and Bintang Ai RTM 2nd Runner-up in 2020. She used to be a regular Astro host with high exposures on TV. Melissa Ong, is the perfect musical twin to Yuii Chan, also a child star since small. She was also an Astro host in the same TV program as Yuii Chan. Her biggest rise to fame was her sensational role in local musical "Ola Bola" in 2019 where she was the leading actress. Melissa is, without a doubt, a multi-talented prodigy spreading her wings in theatre, commercials, TV hosting and musicals.

Finally, famous Chinese Jazz Chanteuse May Mow cements the trio with her regal stage presence, dramatic moves and magnetic alto voice, perfectly complementing the 3-part harmonies beautifully with her bassy tone.

SV trio sings, harmonizes and dances as musical sisters. They look great and have shining stage presence with their tailored-made costumes, glamourous looks, and well-choreographed moves.
