BonaHop, a 6piece swing dance band hailing from Borneo, began as a versatile Malaysian duo, Yvonne Chong (vocalist and voice over talent) and Grace Leong (music director and pianist) exploring a range of musical genres before they discover their mutual passion for Swing Jazz.

    They made their debut at The Publika Jazz Festival in 2017 and have since then performed in numerous corporate and public events like Souled International Jazz Day (2019 & 2024), RIUH! Xmas Weekend (2019), Malaysia Realbook 12 Hour Jazz Marathon (2021), Malaysian Jazz Piano Fest (2023) and Royal Selangor Jazz Fest (2024). 

      BonaHop has now expanded their line up with Icco Elnoel on bass, Adriel Wong on drums, Farid on clarinet and saxophone together with Max on alto sax. Their dream is to perform on a distant planet where exquisite cuisine and lively 1940s style parties accompany timeless tunes from legends like Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie. 

        Expect swing music that will make you tap your feet! If you like jazz and swing music, this is a show for you! In fact, you might see some folks get up and dance!
